Quotes & booking

Hawaiʻi Island is inquiry, west-side first. When we can staff, the written quote itemises menu, staffing, Waimea travel if any, 20% service, GET. Kona, Waikoloa, and Kohala are base. East side is a dedicated day.

• Menu price (per guest, day rate, or fixed) — published starting price
• Service charge — 20% market convention; distributed to staff or disclosed in writing (HRS §481B-14 posture)
• GET — up to 4.7120% incl. county surcharge, shown as its own line, valid through Dec 31, 2030
• Booking deposit — 50% market norm, locks your date
• Travel zone fee — only outside base zones, published per island
• Gratuity — always voluntary, never hidden in the bill

Deposits

Fifty percent locks a staffed west-side date after you accept the written total. Adding a Hilo lunch after a Kona dinner is a second day, not a van ride. Write us.

Cancellation & weather

Proposed tiers pending attorney review. Force-majeure includes west-side road closures and volcanic-air advisories that make the drive unsafe — reschedule rather than forfeit, where safe. Crossing the island is never squeezed into a west-side day.

Taxes (GET)

Hawaiʻi GET is a tax on our gross income. If passed on visibly, the maximum rate is 4.7120% including county surcharge — identical on all four islands, valid through December 31, 2030 — always its own line. We will never display the obsolete 4.166% figure.

Service charge & gratuity

Where a service charge applies (20% is the market convention), Hawaiʻi law (HRS §481B-14 posture) requires it be distributed to employees as tip income or its retention clearly disclosed. Gratuity beyond that is always voluntary.

Licensing, insurance & food safety

Certificates publish when issued and verifiable. We do not invent Kona guest reviews or a now-serving line. Coffee origin claims stay honest.
