The quote and the deposit
Every engagement is confirmed by a written quote itemizing menu, staffing, travel, the 20% service charge, and Hawaiʻi GET up to 4.7120% — that quote is the confirmed total. A 50% deposit locks the date, taken only after you have seen the numbers.
The service charge, disclosed
The 20% service charge is disclosed conspicuously and itemized on its own line, consistent with Hawaiʻi’s service-charge disclosure posture. It is not a gratuity; gratuity is always voluntary and never bundled.
Cancellation and weather
Cancellation terms are stated in your written quote by date and scale. Severe weather reschedules rather than serves a broken dinner — the decision point and plan are written into every event spec.
