Volcano Village lodges, Puna retreat houses, and Hilo-side centers run on 8–30+ guests sleeping on-site with every meal catered. The east side’s whole-food tradition — raw, vegan, gluten-free, farm-sourced — is a genuine culinary register here, not a marketing adjective, and our protocol menus are built for it.
How retreat pricing works
Retreats price two ways: per-person per-day meal plans for host-contracted programs, or the Stay Chef day rate (from $950) plus groceries at cost for chef-in-residence weeks. Multi-day totals are written quotes — assembled from published lines, honored to the dollar.
For hosts
Retreat hosts are repeat buyers with real logistics problems: dietary matrices, meal timing around sessions, kitchens that vary from lodge-grade to residential. We quote per program, label protocols per plate, and put drive times in the quote instead of the fine print.
Corporate retreats and estate buyouts
West-side estate buyouts and corporate retreats run on the catering ledger: staffed service 10–75 guests, from $150 a guest, with the same itemized fee stack. Over 75 is a written exception.

Yes — Volcano and Puna are a core retreat market for us. Because the area is 2.5–3 hours from our Kona kitchen base, multi-day retreats are quoted with travel and lodging logistics in writing. For week-long programs a chef-in-residence arrangement often prices better than daily travel.
